Mohsen Godiny
I am a software engineer and independent researcher based in Iran. I build software and digital tools that help people explore ideas, create, and work more effectively. My interests sit at the intersection of technology, research, and the humanities, with a particular focus on building tools that make complex knowledge easier to explore and connect.
My journey into technology began with a simple curiosity about how things work. I started by taking things apart, experimenting with computers, and writing my first programs in BASIC. Over time, that curiosity grew into a deeper interest in software engineering and in the ways technology can be used to solve problems beyond traditional software development.
Today, I work across software engineering, research, and digital humanities. I am particularly interested in building tools for working with historical and linguistic knowledge, where modern technologies such as knowledge graphs, language technologies, and artificial intelligence can open new ways of studying the past. I enjoy turning difficult research problems into systems that are practical, understandable, and useful.
I believe good software begins with understanding the people who use it. Code is only part of the work. The real challenge is to understand a problem deeply, find the right way to represent it, and build something that makes the work clearer and more meaningful. This idea guides the projects I choose and the tools I build.
Outside of software and research, I am a lifelong learner. I find deep inspiration in the history and languages of ancient Iran, in modern Iranian art, in books, and in the many ways people create and preserve knowledge. I am especially drawn to projects where technology meets human curiosity and cultural memory.
